Garment care
Caring for pleated pieces by REPULO’S
Follow a few simple rules and your pleats will keep their shape and crisp folds for years.

At a glance
Do
- Steam, keeping the nozzle away from the fabric
- Dry clean or gently hand wash in cool water
- Dry naturally, hanging upright on a hanger
- Store on a hanger, in a garment bag for longer periods
Don’t
- Iron
- Soak the garment
- Dry flat
- Tumble dry
After unpacking
Hang the garment on a hanger and leave it overnight or for 24 hours.
Most creases from packing will smooth out on their own. A steamer takes care of the rest.
Steam, never iron
All REPULO’S pleated pieces can be steamed.
- Keep the nozzle at a distance from the fabric.
- Do not press it against the pleats.
- Do not pull the pleats taut.
Don’t
Never iron pleats: direct contact with a hot soleplate flattens the folds.
Washing
We recommend dry cleaning or gentle hand washing in cool water with a mild detergent for delicates.
Do not soak the garment.
To remove excess water, roll the fabric along the pleat lines and gently wring it out without squeezing hard.

Drying
Dry the garment naturally and upright only: on a hanger or a suitable rack.
Don’t
Never dry our pleated pieces flat, as this can distort the pleats. Do not use a tumble dryer.
Storage
Pleated pieces are best stored on a hanger. For longer storage, cover the garment with a garment bag.
If you want to take it off the hanger, roll the pleats along the pleat lines and twist lightly. This way the pleats keep their shape when you unfold the garment again.
How long pleats last
We pleat synthetic and blended fabrics. As a rule, the fewer natural fibres in the fabric, the longer the pleats hold their shape.
In our experience, pleats may survive machine washing but become less crisp. That is why, for the garment to last, we recommend hand washing and drying naturally, hanging upright.
