Silk Satin Dresses

A luminous sheen, a bias cut and a drape that moves with you.

Silk satin dresses are elegant occasion-wear designs cut from a fabric with a soft, luminous sheen and a fluid drape that follows the body. At REPULO’S every style — from maxi to mini — is cut on the bias, so the satin gently skims the silhouette and creates a timeless line that suits a wedding as a guest, a gala or a prom. All styles are available in standard sizes and as a made-to-measure order online, at the same price.

What makes a silk satin dress special?

Silk satin is a weave with a signature subtle sheen on the face and a matte reverse. The secret to its elegance is the bias cut: fabric cut at 45° to the grain gains natural stretch, flows over the body and forms soft, feminine drapes without stiff creases. That is exactly why a satin dress looks luxurious even in a minimalist, unembellished form.

In the REPULO’S collection the silk satin is medium-weight — substantial enough not to be see-through and to drape beautifully, yet light and comfortable to wear all evening. It is a versatile fabric that works for weddings, galas and proms, as well as luxury vacations and refined dinners.

How to choose a silk satin dress for your figure

Bias-cut satin flatters most body shapes because it follows the line of the body instead of stiffening it. A few tips:

Hourglass and pear shapes

A slip or bias maxi highlights the waist and hips without clinging. The Pearl style with a slit visually lengthens the legs.

Rectangle shape

A draped halter neckline, as in the Bree dress, softens the shoulders and creates the illusion of a waist.

Petite height

Choose a silk satin mini (Bree mini) or use the complimentary length adjustment on a maxi through made-to-measure.

What occasion is a satin dress right for?

Silk satin dresses are one of the most versatile choices in an occasion wardrobe. A maxi style (Pearl, Bree) is ideal for a wedding as a guest, a gala, a prom, a black-tie dinner and an evening at the opera. A satin mini is an elegant choice for a cocktail party, engagement celebration, bridal shower or a summer city evening. Ivory and silver shades also work beautifully for destination weddings and bridesmaid styling.

How to care for a silk satin dress

Satin likes gentle handling. Depending on the style we recommend hand washing (the Pearl dress) or a gentle machine wash on a delicate cycle (the Bree dresses). Steam or iron inside out at a low temperature, avoid high heat and never tumble dry. Store the dress on a wide hanger or folded in a cotton garment bag, away from sharp fastenings that could pull the threads. You will find exact care instructions on each product page.

How to style a silk satin dress

Satin is statement enough on its own, so it works best in minimalist pairings: delicate heels, fine jewellery and a small clutch. In the evening, add a tailored blazer or a shawl. If you are drawn to our signature pleated fabric (plissé, fine accordion pleats), explore the pleated REPULO’S dresses too — they pair beautifully with satin accessories.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy a silk satin dress?

REPULO’S signature silk satin dresses are available exclusively at the online store repulos.com and at the Warsaw salon. The collection includes maxi styles (Pearl €150, Bree €125) and a mini (Bree €110), all available as made-to-measure orders too.

How much does a REPULO’S silk satin dress cost?

Prices for the silk satin styles start at €110 for the Bree mini, €125 for the Bree maxi and €150 for the crystal-embellished Pearl slip dress. Made-to-measure comes at no extra cost.

Is silk satin real silk?

“Silk satin” refers to the weave and finish of a fabric with a silk-like sheen. In REPULO’S styles the composition is 60% viscose and 40% polyester — which gives a beautiful drape, durability and easier care than pure silk, while keeping a luxurious look.

Which satin dress should I wear as a wedding guest?

The safest choice is a bias-cut maxi such as Pearl or Bree. It combines elegant simplicity with a luxurious finish and works for both daytime ceremonies and evening receptions. Avoid white unless it is an all-white dress code.

How do I care for a silk satin dress?

We recommend hand washing or a gentle delicate cycle, steaming or ironing inside out at a low temperature, and drying flat or on a hanger. Do not tumble dry. See each product page for exact details.

Can I order a made-to-measure dress?

Yes. Every style is available as a Custom order — you provide your own measurements and we make the dress for you at the same price, entirely online, with worldwide delivery.

Are silk satin dresses still in style?

Absolutely. Satin slip dresses and halter-neck styles remain among the most enduring eveningwear trends thanks to their fluid drape, timeless femininity and versatility.
