Getting married in Warsaw as a foreigner: what to plan
If you are marrying at a Warsaw registry office (Urząd Stanu Cywilnego), the paperwork sets your timeline as much as the dress does. According to the city’s information service, you file a formal statement at the registry office no earlier than six months before the wedding, and the ceremony can take place no sooner than one month after filing. Foreign citizens usually need a document confirming they are legally free to marry under the law of their country, documents in other languages must be translated by a Polish sworn translator, and if you do not speak Polish, an interpreter must be present.
